A Great Weekend.

Wow. What a showing by the Burnsville Traveling Slow pitch program, as we swept all four divisions to bring home 4 different State ASA titles. The 12U Blazers, 14U Inferno, 16U Blaze and 18U Blaze all bring home championships to showcase the kind of talent we have in our program.

Great job to all girls, coaches and fans, as the support from the sidelines was very impressive.

A big shout out also to the many volunteers who worked their tails off to make the ASA Tournament a success. We heard from ASA officials, umpires and visitors from other communities about the first class operation Burnsville provided for the weekend. Great Job.

All teams are signed in to try their luck again this coming weekend in the USSSA Tournament. Unfortunately, the teams are split up into different locations so it wont be the same as last weekend. All we can do is try to repeat our success. Again, Congrats.

Black and Gold success!

A great weekend of softball for several of the Burnsville Traveling programs, as the time and miles put on to go to South Dakota paid off. The 18U Blaze swept through the Pride of the Dakotas tournament, bringing home the first place trophy and an automatic National qualifier berth. Great pitching and some timely hits led the Blaze to the title. The 16U Blaze, also playing in the POD in Sioux Falls, were forced to come back through the losers bracket on Sunday. With one game after another the Blaze kept winning before falling short in the championship and bringing home 2nd place. Great job to the girls and coaches in Sioux Falls.

Meanwhile 3 of the teams headed to the annual Watertown tournament to try their luck at the very nice Koch Fields, which will host the ASA National Tournament next year. The 14U Inferno won their first four games, some in amazing fashion, before falling to Richfield. That left the Inferno to play for second, and it took a 5 run rally in the 7th to tie, then a run in the 8th for the 2nd place trophy. The 14U Bandits also made the trip to Watertown, and played well all weekend, but just couldn't get the big hit, falling just short in 3 of their games.

The 12U Blazers headed to Watertown expecting some great competition, and they got it. The Blazers swept through their pool play, only to fall to powerful Jurgens Printing, to also, you guessed it...bring home second place.

The only team to stay home over the weekend were the 16U Braves who played in the Golden Valley tournament.

The weekend was a battle of the weather, but it was great to see such outstanding competition. Already, we have received emails from opposing coaches, commenting on the sportsmanship and quality of our teams. That's how you make a great impression. Way to go girls.

About Us

Mission Statement

Burnsville Traveling Slow Pitch goals are for each athlete to enjoy the sport through an environment

which promotes fun, fosters improved skills and develops winning attitudes enabling our youth to continue to be one of the recognized leaders of the girls slow pitch players in the State of Minnesota.

Traveling Commitment

Those players and parents interested in the slow pitch Traveling program must recognize the responsibility

and commitment that accompanies being selected to play traveling. We understand that family obligations, school functions and other activities that the girls participate in can make attendance to all scheduled softball events difficult, however it is understood that the committed players will make every attempt to participate and be on time to practices and games. Poor attendance makes preparation for games and practices very difficult for the coaches and moreover the team ultimately suffers for a lack of regular attendance.

If a player does not attend practices and or games without sufficiently notifying their coach, or is excessively absent or has an unexcused absence for practices, games and tournaments, this action may impact future placement of the player on a team.

Volunteer

Volunteers are vital to any well-run program to endure a successful and enjoyable season for all participants and families. For our program to continue to be successful, new volunteers are needed each year. Parents are required to volunteer during Fundraising if needed, positions such as food concessions at the Burnsville Tournament, or Parking Attendants etc. at the State Tournament their daughter is playing in. A volunteer coordinator will work with each team to assign jobs for the tournaments. The coordinator will work with each team and assign one parent as the assistant coordinator for each team to coordinate and assign duties to carry out the function of the program or tournament.
